ICE RATING (from 1-10 with 10 being the best): 6.5+ Shell ice was still present due to the temperature and humidity fluctuations over the past week. The snow on the oval made it tough to see bad ice spots. It was cold and windy but as always, fun!!! Thanks to guest reporter Dieter for the […]
ICE RATING (from 1-10 with 10 being the best): 8.5 The 12:15 – 2:15 session, while at an orthodox time, boasted AMAZING ice! The crew worked late into the night to fix the shell ice which had accumulated after poor weather conditions Thursday, and their dedication was reflected in the ice quality. Still a few […]
ICE RATING (from 1-10, with 1o being the best): 4 pm – 6 pm: 6 Quite a snowy day, so the ice was a bit rough and slower than usual due to snow cover. There are still a few rough spots, but they are greatly improved from the previous days!
Due to the rainy conditions, the Oval is closed today (December 21, 2018). We have been told by ORDA staff that this is a preventative measure and the ice is still firm, as it appears to be. We are looking forward to great sessions tomorrow since, in the right circumstances, rain can be very beneficial […]
Ice Rating (from 1-10 with 10 being the best): 9.5 It was probably the best ice so far this season! The ice was smooth and fast, with no marks or rough spots. The very far outside edges were a bit rough, but no one skated on that part of the Oval anyway.
We skated through the rain this evening and the ice was still smooth and firm! ICE RATING (from 1-10 with 10 being the best): 7 The ice was still smooth and pretty fast. There were marks from the Zamboni blade near the edge that was a bit rough, but overall very good.

Another snowy day! ICE RATING (from 1-10, with 10 being the best) OVERALL: 7 Even though there was pond hockey before the rescheduled afternoon session (5:15 – 7:00) the ice was relatively smooth; not super fast and there was snow cover, but not bad considering all the hockey!
The crews are working on the Oval now as the snow continues to fly…. ICE RATING (from 1-10, with 10 being the best): 6 Very slow, snow covered ice due to the warmer temperatures and freezing rain/snow of previous days. Should be better tomorrow. The Oval has a fancy new banner on the back stretch, […]
