Despite work still being needed, the Oval is opening after only a few days of flooding for sessions today. They are as follows: 4 pm – 6 pm SPEED SKATING 7 pm – 9 pm PUBLIC SKATING
The crew has been busily re-flooding the Oval in preparation to resume skating next weekend. We will post more information as it becomes available.
The Oval is closed today to preserve the integrity of the ice for this weekend’s Lake Placid North American Challenge Marathon, and might be tomorrow as well. Please watch this page for more updates!
We have just confirmed with ORDA management that the Oval is officially closed for the season due to the warm temperatures (it is currently 55 degrees and sunny) and continued warm weather forecasted.
