In a dreary year filled with challenges and limitations, fortunately, there are plans for the Olympic Speed Skating Oval to open soon (albeit, of course, with various safety protocols in place). Oval crew members were spotted cleaning off the surface of the track, using a brush to clear away the debris that has settled on the surface from construction and previous use for parking. Once the surface is relatively clean, the ice-making process can begin. When “flooding” (the process of making ice) begins on the Oval, we will post, as well as when there is a confirmed schedule. Hopefully sooner rather than later, skating will be available!
