ICE RATING (from 1-10 with 10 being the best):
9 am – 11 am: 7
Guest post by Cynthia Patnode Carey, who was the lone speed skater out there during the morning session –
The ice was cut with the zamboni and there were large patches of rough spots on the corner by the green wall and back straight.
Bench report – presumably, quite cold! Temps were cold this morning, in the teens, despite the sun.
4 pm – 5 pm: 8
The ice quality improved quite a bit! Smoother and faster on the straight-aways, the corners were still a bit rough in spots but better than they have been.
The Bench Report (from 1 – 5 with 1 being, vandals stole my bag and are now selling my skate guards on eBay): 4
Not a horribly windy day – quite cold this morning but “warmer” (above-freezing temps) this afternoon. Slight snow cover on the benches because it was snowing. However, it was quite manageable and not too unpleasant.
