ICE RATING (from 1-10 with 10 being the best): 6
A+ for effort – the crew worked really hard to try to redeem the ice after the temperature fluctuations and rain yesterday, breaking up a lot of shell ice, but it was still rough going due to the snow cover resulting from a snow squall in the middle of the session. The session started later due to ice repair, and there were several rough spots of shell ice on the outer lanes but still not bad considering the conditions.
Afternoon, 5 pm – 7 pm: 5
Lots of shell ice. One or two smooth expanses but generally quite “sticky” with rough patches. Luckily the public skating has been canceled for the evening so the crew could work on the ice in preparation for tomorrow’s meet.
