Due to ice maintenance, the Oval is expected to be closed tomorrow, (Thursday, January 25). The crew has been working on reviving the ice after the warm, rainy conditions over the weekend and on Monday, and want to ensure we have the best possible ice for our weekend of racing and skating.
ORDA management tells us that they are planning to resume the “usual schedule” on Friday, 4 -6 speed skating and 7-9 public skating. They feel confident that with this work being done on the Oval, the weekend will go off without a hitch and skaters will be able to race and train effectively. If anything changes, I will certainly let you know, but we are expecting a great race weekend in Lake Placid!

If you would like to register for the Irving Jaffee Single Distance Championships this weekend, please register before registration closes tomorrow night!

Please also note that due to the meet, there will be no “public speed skating” ice Saturday and Sunday morning, but there should still be the usual 4 -6 session both days; please keep watching lakeplacidoval.com for ice conditions and schedule updates.
